You can be ready for anything.
A brief review of St. Louis history makes a strong case for preparedness on many fronts. There's the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-12, the Great Fire of 1849, the Cyclone of 1896, and the floods of 1993. In more recent memory, a chemical plant explosion in 2005 and the severe storms of the summer and winter of 2006. And, 2011 began with tornadoes that devastated several local communities. While emergencies aren't always this dramatic, each year residents experience a number of circumstances that can range from the merely inconvenient to some that are life-altering. And sometimes, it is information and a bit of preparation that can make the difference.
